Quick answer

ONE PIECE chapter 1197 is scheduled for 2 November 2026, in Weekly Shonen Jump issue 49.

There is no chapter next week. The note at the end of chapter 1196 reads:

次号休載します。再開はWJ49号(11月2日発売)予定です。 ONE PIECE is off next issue. It is scheduled to resume in WJ issue 49, on sale 2 November.

Date (Japan time) ONE PIECE?
Issue 47 Mon 19 October Chapter 1196
Issue 48 Mon 26 October Break
Issue 49 Mon 2 November Chapter 1197 (scheduled)

PRIMARY — MANGA VERIFIED. The break note is read directly from the last page of chapter 1196, Weekly Shonen Jump 2026 issue 47 on Shonen Jump+. "Scheduled" is the magazine's own word: schedules can change.

What time?

Japan. Shonen Jump+ put issue 47 up at 00:00 JST on 19 October, the start of its release day. We checked this against the magazine's own feed. If issue 49 follows the same pattern, 1197 goes up at 00:00 JST on Monday 2 November.

Time zone Expected release
Japan (JST) Mon 2 November, 00:00
UTC Sun 1 November, 15:00
US Eastern Sun 1 November, 10:00 (EST — US clocks have changed back by then)
US Pacific Sun 1 November, 07:00 (PST)

The other zones are converted from the Japan time. Check the official apps on the day.

Why the break?

The note doesn't give a reason. ONE PIECE takes scheduled breaks regularly. Nothing in the note points to anything more than that, and we won't guess at one.

Where 1196 left off

The whole chapter is Sanji against the God's Knight Killingham:

  • The nightmare. Killingham pulls the thing Sanji fears most out of his head — and it is Ivankov.
  • The flashback. Kamabakka names Sanji's weakness: he doesn't value himself, so he never defends.
  • The turn. Sanji gets up, lights a cigarette, and vows not to take one more hit.

Not shown: Conqueror's Haki, and the result of the fight.

Still waiting on earlier chapters:

  • Zoro's strike on Sommers (1195). No result yet.
  • Brook and Gunko. Still unresolved.
  • The owl's story of Lily. It has only just started.
