Did Zoro Beat Sommers in ONE PIECE 1195? The Strike, Brook Faces Gunko, and "Lily"

Quick answer: did Zoro beat Sommers?

We don't know yet — the chapter stops at the moment of impact.

  • Zoro's line. With a grin, he says 「掴んだ…!!!」 — I've got it.
  • The charge. Sommers screams that his life is over and begs him not to come. Zoro charges.
  • The strike. A massive black-lightning strike lands, and Sommers' scream fades out.
  • The cut. The chapter cuts to another part of Elbaf and never comes back to them.

No result is shown. Not Sommers' heart, not his death, not whether he regenerates.

The rest of chapter 1195 belongs to three other threads:

  • Brook and Gunko. Brook confronts the masked Knight Gunko as Shuri, the princess of his old kingdom — and she answers only as Gunko.
  • Lily. An owl begins the story of a woman called Lily.
  • Sanji. He is losing to Killingham and is told he has a serious weakness — the chapter's title, 「弱点」.

PRIMARY — MANGA VERIFIED. Read directly from the official Japanese release: chapter 1195「弱点」in Weekly Shonen Jump 2026 issue 46, published 12 October on Shonen Jump+. Spoilers below. English wording is our paraphrase of the Japanese, not the official translation.

Zoro: "I've got it"

Chapter 1194 ended with Zoro in a three-sword stance, black lightning-like effects around his blades and Sommers terrified. No strike was shown.

1195 picks up straight from there:

  • The bolts. Black lightning rakes the ground near the moored ship.
  • The grin. In close-up, Zoro grins and says 「掴んだ…!!!」 — I've got it.
  • Sommers' panic. He cries out that it's over, that his life is ending, and screams at Zoro not to come.
  • Zoro's reply. 「この期に及んで…」 — at this point…
  • The charge. He closes in, and a huge black-lightning impact lands. Sommers' 「ギャアアア…」 trails off.

What the page establishes: Zoro says he has got hold of something, and lands a strike that his terrified opponent could not escape.

What it does not establish:

  • Nobody names the lightning as Conqueror's Haki in these pages. 「掴んだ」 is Zoro's own word, with no object stated.
  • The heart is not shown, and neither is Sommers' death or regeneration.
  • The chapter does not return to them. Elsewhere, Killingham still says Sommers is "waiting at the port" — his assumption, not a status report.

1194 showed Zoro unable to call the coating back on demand. 「掴んだ」 is the first time he says he has it. The full chapter-by-chapter record is in does Zoro have Conqueror's Haki?

Brook: "Princess Shuri"

Context first. This is not the first time the two meet as Brook and Shuri. (CHAPTER-REFERENCED.)

  • Chapter 1173. Brook already calls Gunko 「シュリ姫」.
  • Chapters 1183–1186. Brook's past in the Kingdom of Esperia is told, including Princess Shuri.
  • Chapter 1186. The World Noble Manmayer Grow comes to take Shuri, with the same rare odd eyes as hers, and she says she was a Celestial Dragon. That makes him her birth father by strong implication — the Manmayer name Gunko gives here.

What 1195 adds is the confrontation itself: Brook speaking to her directly, and her memories and tears breaking through.

The masked woman. She has just thawed out and is breathing hard. Her memories flash past:

  • someone crying big brother;
  • a scarred man shouting that this is ridiculous;
  • a woman crying Father;
  • an eye;
  • a figure lying down, saying 「イム様…… 生きたい……!!」 — Lord Imu… I want to live…!!

Brook's case:

  • What he notices. An enemy, he says, wouldn't feel that kind of pain.
  • Who he was. He introduces himself as the former knight commander of the Kingdom of Esperia, "Humming Brook", who died once fifty years ago and lives on as bones.
  • Who he thinks she is. He asks whether she is the former Princess Shuri of Esperia.
  • What he forgives. He could not forgive what she did "that day". But if it was beyond her control, he says, she suffered too.
  • The flashback. A horned woman with a bloodied blade tells him, smiling: the war will end, Brook — aren't you happy?

Her answer: 「世界貴族マンマイヤー家の"軍子"!!!」 — I am Gunko of the World Noble Manmayer family!

Brook doesn't let go.

  • The tears. He asks what her tears are, then.
  • The song. He sings the song she once loved. In a flashback, a young princess says she loves Brook's songs.
  • Her reply. Gunko attacks, puts her goggles and mask back on, and says she doesn't know him.
  • The stance. Brook points at her sword stance: I taught you that, didn't I?

What the page establishes:

  • Brook speaks to Gunko as Esperia's Princess Shuri, as he did in 1173.
  • Gunko answers only as Gunko, of the Manmayer family. The family is the one chapter 1186 ties to Shuri's birth father.
  • Her memories include Imu's eye and the words "I want to live".

What it does not establish:

  • That she remembers being Shuri. Her tears and memories surface, but she does not accept the name in 1195.
  • What happened to her. The chapter shows memories and Brook's "if it was beyond your control". It does not explain how she became Gunko.

The Owl's Library: "Lily"

Where: behind the Owl's Library, in the hidden room.

What happens:

  • Saul asks whether this is really what they need right now.
  • The owl starts a story: long ago, a human woman called Lily lived on this island.
  • Robin repeats the name, and the chapter moves on.

That is everything 1195 says about her: a name, 「リリィ」, and "human". It does not connect her to any earlier Lily in the series, or to Imu. Any such link is theory until a chapter makes it. More in who is Lily?

Sanji: "You don't have Conqueror's Haki"

The fight.

  • Sanji's kicks. He lands kick after kick: 「魔神風脚」, 「空中テーブル」, 「キックコース」.
  • Killingham's regeneration. He regenerates every time and laughs that it's useless.
  • The taunt. He tells Sanji he doesn't have Conqueror's Haki.
  • The spear. Killingham names it 「聖命槍」 (Longinus), "the spear that created the world", and strikes with 「神の雷槌」.

The flashback.

  • Gaban. He tells Sanji the aptitude should be there, but that for some reason he carries a dangerous self-destructive streak.
  • Sanji's memories.
    • Luffy telling him that dying isn't repaying anyone.
    • His own past lines about letting himself be the sacrifice so everything would work out.

The ending.

  • Killingham stabs him.
  • A memory opens. Sanji feels a door in his memory he had shut forcing itself open.
  • Ivankov. At Kamabakka he says he's told "Sanji Boy" again and again: 「ヴァナータには深刻な"弱点"がァ!!!」 — you have a serious weakness!!!
  • The chapter ends there.

What the page establishes:

  • Killingham's verdict that Sanji has no Conqueror's Haki.
  • Gaban's "aptitude, but self-destructive" — one character's reading.
  • Ivankov's "weakness" line. It reads as Sanji's memory, not Ivankov arriving on Elbaf.

What it does not establish:

  • What the weakness is.
  • Whether Sanji awakens anything. Nothing is shown.

Also in the chapter

  • West village.
    • Fighters are still pulling giant children out of a thorn trap.
    • Killingham drives his "rain god" construct on, shouting that Sommers is waiting at the port. The ship-and-children thread from 1194 is not resolved.
  • The title page.
    • A reader-request cover: Sanji as a hairdresser trimming a horse's mane.
    • An editorial note in the margin says the anime THE ONE PIECE Season 1 streams on Netflix from February 2027.

What chapter 1195 does not confirm

  • Sommers defeated, dead, or his steel heart destroyed. The strike lands; the result is not shown.
  • That the strike was Conqueror's Haki. Not named on the page.
  • That Gunko accepts being Shuri. Brook speaks to her as Shuri, as earlier chapters set up; in 1195 she still answers only as Gunko.
  • Who Lily is, beyond "a human woman who lived on this island long ago".
  • Sanji awakening Conqueror's Haki, or what his "weakness" is.
  • Luffy, Loki or Imu in the present day. Imu appears only in Gunko's memory.

Update, 12 October 2026: the first version of this report framed Brook naming Gunko as Princess Shuri as a new reveal, and her identity as only Brook's claim. Earlier chapters had already set this up: Brook calls her 「シュリ姫」 in chapter 1173, and his Esperia past — including Shuri leaving with the World Noble Manmayer Grow, her strongly implied birth father — was told in chapters 1183–1186 (chapter-referenced). The Brook section now gives that context, and says what 1195 actually adds.
